По данным правозащитников, сегодня в Украине живет 355 тыс. человек, которые на собственном опыте знают, что такое побои в правоохранительных органах, пишет в свежем номер украинский еженедельный журнал Корреспондент. Каждый 14-й украинец испытал на себе пытки в милиции, пишет издание.

Корреспондент приводит свидетельства украинцев, подвергавшихся побоям и пыткам. "Меня начали бить головой об стены, стол - сначала опергруппа, которая меня задержала, потом следователи прокуратуры. Просил скорую, обезболивающего - куда там", - вспоминает один из героев материала.

По подсчетам специалистов Украинской Хельсинской группы и Харьковской правозащитной группы (ХПГ), ежегодно пыткам подвергаются 93,5 тыс. украинцев.

"Широкому распространению пыток в Украине активно способствует погоня милиции за радужными статистическими показателями. Согласно официальным данным, в стране раскрывается 69% всех преступлений. А по убийствам показатель и вовсе достигает заоблачных величин - виновных находят в 95% случаев", пишет издание. Правозащитники называют эту цифру "неестественно и чрезмерно высокой".

По негласным правилам МВД следователь должен каждый месяц направлять минимум три уголовных дела в суд, отмечает Корреспондент в своем материале.
